I went on a 14 day juice fast and ended it after four days today. Why? Because of my Paleo Diet.
Last year this time I went on a 30 day juice fast straight from a Standard American Diet of grains, sugar and processed foods (albeit a gluten, dairy and soy-free version). The change was tremendous. Detoxing and energy jumps and clarity boosts and fireworks shooting out over my head like a love connection in a Brady Bunch rerun.
For about three months now I have been thinking, "I need to go on another juice fast to reboot myself. You know, clear out my year's worth of toxins." So last week when a dear friend decided to kick the processed food habit and juice I jumped right in. "Me, too, I'll start when you do!" and I declared 14 days. 14 days of juicing! Yes! I put a motivational poster on my wall with check-boxes and everything.
Do you know what I felt while juicing?
I'm going on a 14 day juice fast starting tomorrow. It's been a year since my last juice fast, which lasted 30 days. It's been on my mind to cleanse again it was my dear friend who inspired me to commit. This week he gave up caffeine and will start his very first 30 day juice fast tomorrow before going full Paleo. I want to support him - and me - yay!
As I mentally prepare for tomorrow I'm remembering the things I learned through trial and error last year. In case they save you time and effort, I'll share:
In September 2011 I stopped chewing food for 30 days. I lost 17 pounds and by day 15 I felt more amazing than I had in a decade. Friends were curious so I wrote a FAQ I forwarded to all those who asked.
Here it is.
I will create more in-depth posts on this subject, but if you want to drink in the Juice Fast overview like a blast from a fire-hose, read on. :)
I like the easy Paleo stuff.
